Moderator: Christian Wende - DTS Patent (DE)

Christian Wende is a German and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. In FICPI, he serves as Chair of CET 4 (European Patents). He has a Master’s Degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and earned a PhD for his work in the field of liver dialysis. Further, he is Master of Laws (LL.M., Europäischer Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz, Fernuniversität Hagen; Masterthesis: “The way to the Unitary Patent and the Unitary Patent Court”).

At TUM, he is Adjunct Professor for Patent Law at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants (Prof. Mela) in cooperation with the Chair of Corporate and Intellectual Property Law (Prof. Ann). He is co-author of a Design Commentary for German and European Design Law.

He advises clients in IP prosecution and litigation, but also M&A, and he is specialized in IP for Medical Technology. Further, he is very active in IP Due Diligence for inter alia large VC Funds and listed companies.

Calim Bouhadra is a versatile leader known for his exceptional achievements in mechanical engineering, business management, and innovation.  With a remarkable career, he shaped operations at LEMO S.A. for 23 years, maintaining its leadership.

As CEO of Rebellion Timepieces, Bouhadra elevated the brand to industry benchmark, showcasing a unique blend of technical excellence and artistic vision.

His leadership extends to Rebellion Racing and Rebellion Motors, embodying operational excellence, innovation, and success in complex  business environments.

Carolina Aguilar - CEO Inbrain Neuroelectronics and Innervia (ES)

Carolina Aguilar is CEO and Co-Founder of INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, a health-tech company that develops neuroelectronic therapies using graphene brain interfaces with ultra-high density and resolution with the mission to decode neural signals to improve people’s lives She has over 15 years of expertise in healthcare out of which she was 13 years in the European Headquarters of Medtronic in Switzerland, leading globally businesses in brain modulation and diabetes where she managed complex markets and large teams that generated high YoY growth and innovation.

Carolina is passionate about creating solutions that improve the outcomes that matter to patients and drive healthcare sustainability. She won several awards and honors, such as the European Value Based Health Care Prize and the PMEA Patient Centricity Award, for delivering patient-centric and value-based models of care. Just recently INBRAIN got FDA breakthrough designation for their innovative neural platform. The company also won the Most Innovative Company of the Year in 2022.
